Maintenance Tech
We currently have an opening for the following position:
The Maintenance Tech is a skilled, reliable, and self-motivated individual who can handle everything from receiving work orders, communicating with tenants, managing required materials, and completing the repairs and projects. Projects vary from minor maintenance to complete renovations. Tasks include loading and unloading materials, demo, framing and carpentry, installing drywall and windows, plumbing and electrical, HVAC, painting, and flooring. You must be prepared to work in different types of weather conditions. Work will primarily take place in Carlisle, but some travel may be necessary within the Shippensburg to Hummelstown region. Our ideal candidate is organized, has construction experience, and can work both independently and as part of a team. This person will be supervised by the Maintenance Director.
Maintenance Tech Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Receive work orders and turn-overs electronically as they are submitted
- Organize, prioritize, and execute efficiently to complete repairs and renovations in timely and efficient manner
- Treat all tenants with respect, including following lease guidelines and cleaning after work is complete
- Follow instructions and use tools and equipment to complete daily tasks, must provide hand tools
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations on-site and when operating equipment
- Schedule and provide assistance to sub-contractors (i.e., craft workers, electricians, painters) as needed
- Work through electronic work order system
- Ensure materials, equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly
Maintenance Tech Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent; vocational school or trade apprenticeships a plus
- Required to pass a criminal background check
- Valid PA driver’s license along with transportation
- Two years construction experience preferred (applicant please note any additional construction related certifications and trainings)
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders.
- Able to work independently and as an active member of a team
- Excellent communication skills
